Sanford Health Celebrates Cancer Survivors at Annual Picnic

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Thursday, Sanford Health hosted its annual Cancer Survivorship Picnic at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall.
The open house event brought together families to an indoor picnic for those affected by cancer.
Attendees were able to enjoy food, music and activities with others in the cancer community.
“It’s a really big bucket filler for our team. All of the volunteers, everybody that puts this event together actually works at the cancer center so it is a way for us to give back to our patients. Also to see our patients outside of those cancer walls, and even have past patients we haven’t seen in a couple of years, be able to connect with them,” said Sanford Cancer Center nurse manager Jamie Dickmeyer.
Gift baskets were also made and given away to those who attended.
