Meghan Markle Warned on One Crucial Issue Following 'Silly' As Ever Announcement

Meghan Markle was warned that she needs to "stop reacting and start leading" in order for her lifestyle brand, As Ever , to be taken seriously in the business industry, a PR expert told the Express. The Duchess of Sussex made a series of contradicting comments earlier this month regarding restocking her now sold-out items and when new products were due to drop.

As Ever launched its first collection featuring eight items back in March, but everything sold out within 30 minutes. After a period of silence, Meghan made a cryptic comment about "stepping back" and taking time to reassess the brand's future.

She told Fast Company earlier this month that instead of restocking, she wanted to "take a step back, gather data and figure out what As Ever could be" and that she plans on announcing new products in early 2026.

A few dates later, in a bonus episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess told guest Tina Knowles that she wanted to put a "pause" on her brand until everything was "stable".

She said: "I'm looking at it, saying, just pause. That happened. Let's wait until we are completely stable, and we have everything we need."

But in a bombshell announcement hours after she made the comment, she announced on her brand's Instagram account that As Ever would be restocking some of the sold-out products and releasing new ones this month.

Now a PR expert criticised the duchess for not having a "clear rollout plan" and urged her to treat her audience like "intelligent consumers, not just fans who'll buy anything with her name on it.

Renae Smith, founder and director of The Atticism , told the Express: "If she wants to be taken seriously in this space, she needs to stop reacting and start leading.

"That means committing to a clear rollout plan, dropping the cryptic 'pause and reassess' rhetoric, and treating her audience like intelligent consumers, not just fans who'll buy anything with her name on it.

"Consistency, communication, and credibility need to be the pillars. Right now, all three are missing."

As Ever's latest picture alongside Meghan's announcement hinted that her infamous raspberry spread could be coming back, while new products could include jams with blueberries and strawberries.
