Tackle Caregiver Burnout with Free Program from Jacksonville's ElderSource

About 90 free spots are available in an ElderSource program designed to prevent caregiver burnout.

Begun in 2021, the Tailored Caregiver Assessment and Referral Program pairs participants with trained specialists who develop customized care plans, provide strategies to relieve stress and connect them with community resources.

The help "enables caregivers to help loved ones age in place and delay nursing home placement, while also taking care of themselves," according to ElderSource, the Jacksonville-based Area Agency on Aging for Northeast Florida.

The program is available to caregivers who are supporting a loved one age 60 or older in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, St. Johns, Nassau or Volusia counties. For more information, call (904) 391-6647 or go to myeldersource.org/eldersources-free-caregiver-support-program .

About 2.7 million Florida adults are unpaid family caregivers while maintaining other responsibilities, according to AARP .
