Marine Le Pen Draws Inspiration From Martin Luther King Jr.

The far-right French political figure Marine Le Pen, recently found guilty of misappropriating public money and barred from holding office, referenced Martin Luther King Jr in an attempt to reclaim authority.

Across the Seine on Sunday, thousands assembled at a counter-protest organized by leftist groups. "This goes beyond Marine Le Pen," stated Green Party spokesperson Marine Tondelier. "The focus is on upholding the legal system against those who believe justice can be disregarded."

The head of France's National Rally party, established by her father Jean-Marie Le Pen as the National Front in 1972, stands out as one of the leading personalities of the European far-right movement.

Even though she is barred from holding public office right away, the confirmation of her prison term and financial penalty will occur after Le Pen has completed all her appeal processes against the decision.
