Fife Flyers Set to Welcome New Owners as Club Transitions

The club has preliminarily agreed with an undisclosed entity to assume control of the team following the departure of directors Tom Muir and Jack Wishart, who have stepped down after 28 years in leadership roles.

The announcement came right after the final buzzer of the last home game of the season, where the Flyers secured a remarkable 5-4 victory over the Manchester Storm in overtime.

The statement brings an end to the speculations about the team's future, a subject that has dominated conversations at the rinkside for several weeks now.

The club’s statement read: "As you will recall, at the end of January 2025, long-time proprietors Tom Muir and Jack Wishart took the challenging choice to resign and withdraw from their positions as owners of Fife Flyers IHC after 28 years leading the team."

“The duo wished to find new owners/operators who they could pass the baton on to and who would take the team forward in the EIHL.

We are thrilled to inform you that an initial agreement has been made to ensure the continued future of the Fife Flyers. Although all the necessary documentation is yet to be finalised, we aim to disclose the information about the new owners as soon as possible.

They added: "This signals the start of a new era for the team, featuring fresh guidance, renewed vitality, and a collective outlook aimed at expanding upon the esteemed heritage of the Flyers."

Further information is anticipated to be revealed shortly—the concluding stages are still pending, yet all involved parties "remain dedicated to a promising and exhilarating future for hockey in Fife."

The directors commented: "We appreciate your ongoing support. The future is dynamic. Let’s move ahead – together."
