Wimbledon 2025 is set to take place from June 30th to July 13th at the prestigious All England Club. Tennis fans around the globe can anticipate comprehensive coverage across various platforms, including television, radio, online streaming, and mobile applications.

Sinner Asserts Full Fitness for Djokovic Showdown

Jannik Sinner, the world's number one ranked player, has declared himself "100%" ready for his highly anticipated Wimbledon semi-final clash against Novak Djokovic. This announcement comes after concerns arose earlier in the week when Sinner suffered an elbow injury during his fourth-round match.

The 23-year-old Italian experienced a fall during the opening game of his match against Grigor Dimitrov. The incident necessitated a medical time-out for treatment. Despite the setback and being two sets down, Sinner managed to advance after Dimitrov was forced to retire due to his own injury.

Sinner's preparation for the quarter-final was limited to a brief 20-minute practice session with his coaches. He was also observed wearing strapping and a protective sleeve on his racquet arm during his match against Shelton. During the quarter-final, Sinner visibly grimaced and shook his arm after returning one of Shelton's powerful serves in the second set, offering a glimpse of the discomfort he was experiencing.

Addressing the media, Sinner conveyed optimism about his condition. "The pain is getting better," he stated. "I played today with some painkillers which helped me to get through." He acknowledged the challenges of returning fast serves but reassured that the injury was not "crazy serious." He emphasized that the upcoming day off would be beneficial for his recovery, ensuring he would be in peak condition for the semi-final. "Time will always help and [Thursday] is one day off, which is going to be good for me, and Friday I'm going to be 100%."

A Rivalry Renewed: Djokovic vs. Sinner

The upcoming semi-final marks another chapter in the evolving rivalry between Djokovic and Sinner. Djokovic, aiming for a record-extending 25th Grand Slam title, suffered a defeat to Sinner in the French Open semi-finals earlier this year.

Their head-to-head record at Wimbledon includes two previous encounters, both won by Djokovic. They met in the quarter-finals in 2022 and again in the semi-finals in 2023. However, Sinner has gained the upper hand recently, winning their last four meetings.

Sinner acknowledged the familiarity between the two players, stating, "Me and Novak, we know each other better because we have played quite a lot." He also recognized the challenge ahead, noting his past struggles against Djokovic at Wimbledon: "I've never won against him here in Wimbledon so it's going to be a very, very tough challenge."

Adapting to the Grass: Sinner's Shoe Choice

In an effort to prevent further slips on the grass court, Sinner revealed he made a change in footwear for his quarter-final match against Shelton.

"I played with completely new shoes to have more grip," he explained. "I haven't even played practice [in them]. It was completely new, which usually on other surfaces I don't do." He emphasized the importance of grip on grass courts, stating, "On grass the main priority is to have lots of grip so I have to get used to it."
