Clemson's 2025 Title: $20K Payday?

College footballEven before the season gets underway, gamblers are already placing bets on the College Football Playoff Championship Game scheduled for January 19.

This covers, for example, a DraftKings Sportsbook user trying to win big from a three-part parlay with a small initial bet.

Keep reading to learn about that customer's gamble and other significant bets as we approach August.

Forward Thinking

In April, just before the Masters Tournament teed off, a DraftKings customer placed a small $14 wager on a three-part futures parlay:

1. Combining those three factors gives you odds of +141650, which is roughly 1417/1 for simplicity. 2. If you tally those three together, the odds come out to +141650, or approximately 1417 to 1. 3. Putting those three elements together results in odds of +141650, which translates to around 1417/1 to make it simpler.

1. The initial two stages have already paid off handsomely. McIlroy emerged victorious against Justin Rose in a playoff at the Masters, and Florida, for the second consecutive year, triumphed. 2. The opening pair of phases have more than lived up to expectations. McIlroy defeated Justin Rose in a playoff to secure the Masters title, and Florida reigned supreme for the second year running. 3. The initial two portions have already proven fruitful. McIlroy overcame Justin Rose in a playoff to claim the Masters, and Florida emerged as the champion once again for the second straight year.Edmontonto be crowned Stanley Cup champions.

So it’s up to Clemson to finish it off.

Should the Tigers emerge victorious, that initial $14 investment would balloon to $19,845.

It's not an outlandish idea. Clemson has attracted significant betting interest during the offseason regarding College Football Playoff futures, prompting DraftKings to slash the Tigers' odds by 50%. Clemson is currently the fifth most likely team to win the national championship at +1000, trailing onlyOhio State (+500), Texas (+550), Georgia (+700) and Penn State (+750).

Baseball Bingo

1. The vast majority of us are unfamiliar with the experience of winning a 12-leg parlay. 2. This is largely because most people don't place such complex bets, and even if they did, the odds of winning are incredibly slim.

However, the rewards can be substantial when they occur. A bettor in Nevada using William Hill US experienced this firsthand on Sunday.

The gambler included moneyline, runline, and Over/Under wagers in their Sunday bets.MLBHe placed a mere $5 bet on Slate, with incredibly long odds of +252029, which is slightly better than 2520 to 1.

Making things even harder, the odds of winning with a six-leg parlay were factored into the game.

Every single one of the twelve selections won, transforming the gambler's initial five-dollar wager into a substantial $12,601.49 payout.

A bettor in Nevada hit it big at Caesars Sports on Wednesday, winning a lottery-like payout with a nine-leg parlay focusing on MLB player statistics.

The wager was $10.

If you combine all those probabilities, it comes to around +114001, which is the same as 1140 to 1. Against all odds, each selection was correct, and the person betting won $11,408.22.

Punting on Pittsburgh

Back to football, NFLThe betting lines are beginning to surface as well. The exhibition season begins this Thursday with the Hall of Fame Game, featuring theIndianapolis Colts against the Baltimore RavensThe standard season will commence in a mere six weeks.

A particularly interesting wager comes from someone who is banking on...Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh SteelersExperience a truly disastrous season. Caesars Sports accepted a $13.33 bet on the Steelers finishing with a 0-17 record, paying out at +20000 odds (200/1).

Remember that coach Mike Tomlin has maintained a non-losing streak for the Steelers for 18 years. However, if Pittsburgh experiences a complete collapse this season, that modest bet would yield $2,679.33.

I'm drawn to high-stakes gambles, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Typically, when you're looking at NFL futures bets...Super BowlThe bets that draw the most significant money. The odds for the AFC and NFC championships also frequently attract large wagers.

One of the riskiest wagers this offseason centers on predicting which teams will win their divisions, particularly concerning theBuffalo Billsto clinch the AFC East title.

A Caesars Sports bettor wagered a hefty $250,000 on the Bills at -250 odds. IfJosh AllenIf & Co. secure their sixth consecutive AFC East championship, the person who placed the bet will gain $100,000 (resulting in a total payout of $350,000).

Caesars accepted a $60,000 wager regarding Super Bowl betting odds.Kansas City Chiefs+900. Should Kansas City regain their winning form and secure their third championship in four years, the bettor stands to gain $540,000 (resulting in a total payout of $600,000).

Caesars made a significantly smaller wager on the situation.New York JetsHoping for an AFC championship, one bettor wagered $5,000 on the Jets at +7500 odds to take home the Lamar Hunt Trophy.

If the Jets somehow make it to the Super Bowl, the person who placed the bet stands to gain a substantial $375,000.

I can only wish you the best. It would make an incredible story to document.
