Becky Lynch's 'Big Time' Gilmore Sequel

You're about to see a whole new side of Becky Lynch as she returns to the movies.

The Man has entered the delightful realm of Happy Madison Productions, taking on a supporting role in their latest project.Happy Gilmore 2, and you can now watch it on Netflix.

Adam Sandler's 1996 hit film is getting a legacy sequel, picking up the story 30 years after the main character defeated Shooter McGavin at the Tour Championship. Lynch mentioned that...The Takedown on SIShe explained on Friday afternoon that she hadn't gotten around to watching the movie yet, but it was ready to go in her Netflix queue for family movie night this weekend.

Creating it was a joy. The cast and crew were amazing to work with, and the set had a unique vibe. Adam [Sandler]'s approach, combined with [Director] Kyle Newacheck's brilliance, fostered an incredibly positive, enjoyable, and spontaneous environment, with plenty of room for improvisation. It felt truly magical, and I hope that translates to the final product.

From an unbiased perspective, it definitely does. Viewers of the movie can easily see that the actors truly enjoyed themselves while filming, despite the story's somewhat somber nature.

Without revealing key details, audiences will encounter Gilmore facing a difficult period in his life, supported by a diverse group of individuals who assist him in changing his circumstances.

Becky Lynch's character is different. As the current Women's Intercontinental Champion, she plays Flex, a confident and outspoken Irish golfer with a single name. Flex is brought in during the movie's final part to assist in defeating Gilmore. Lynch, known as The Man, largely created this persona.

I was given quite a bit of leeway to personalize the role. While there was a basic character outline, we essentially had the freedom to develop our characters as we saw fit during the workshop process.

Dedicated wrestling enthusiasts may occasionally catch glimpses of Becky Lynch's personality in Flex, especially when events deviate from Flex's original plans.

When questioned about whether she took inspiration from her past projects, Lynch conceded, "Perhaps a touch of 'Big Time' found its way in." She reiterated, "Maybe just a hint of 'Big Time.'"

Lynch wasn't dubbed "Big Time Becks" arbitrarily. The futureWWEThe Hall of Fame inductee has excelled in some of the company's most significant moments, captivating live audiences of thousands and millions more viewing from their homes.

1. For The Man, working on a big movie set such as *Happy Gilmore 2* was unusual because she couldn't gauge the audience's reaction in real-time to know if a scene was working as intended. 2. Unlike her usual performances, The Man's time on the set of *Happy Gilmore 2* lacked the immediate audience response that would normally tell her if a scene was successful. 3. The Man found that filming *Happy Gilmore 2* was an atypical experience, mainly because she missed having a live audience to provide instant feedback on whether a scene was hitting the mark.

On a film or television shoot, your own instincts are your primary guide. You might think something works, but it's hard to know if the audience will perceive it the same way. This creates a unique pressure, perhaps with less of an immediate rush compared to performing live for millions. In a live setting, anything can happen unexpectedly, and there's no way to fix mistakes – they become permanent.

Becky Lynch was more than capable of fulfilling the Flex role. Her scenes with fellow Irishman Rory McIlroy are guaranteed to bring a smile to viewers' faces.

The 2025 Masters Tournament champion stood out even in a secondary position, much like Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, and numerous other PGA Tour players who participated in the movie. Golf enthusiasts globally will find this compilation of personalities and relationships truly enjoyable.

Lynch admitted, "I really wish my father could have witnessed this. He loved golf. I believe he would have been incredibly amused by it. When I was very young, around four or five, I cheated at mini-golf at a summer camp. I exaggerated how well I played. I ended up winning a bronze medal, and my dad never forgot it for the rest of his life. I could never bring myself to confess that I had simply lied and wasn't actually a golf prodigy."

It's impossible to predict your success until you take a chance, but Lynch realized during filming that she would never have a "Happy Gilmore" experience in her own life, even if she had followed her father's encouragement to start playing golf when she was younger.

I never imagined I'd have the opportunity to collaborate with such talented golfers. Hearing them discuss their accuracy, training methods, and even their thought process during a shot was truly eye-opening. Their level of skill is astounding. And on top of that, they were all such wonderful guys – genuinely great people.

Even if you didn't love the first "Happy Gilmore" movie, this one offers something for a wide audience. It provides the expected humor of an Adam Sandler film and that's precisely what attracted Lynch to get involved.

Everyone could use a good chuckle these days, a way to get away from it all. Whether it's movies, TV shows, or even professional wrestling that provides that break for thirty minutes to a few hours, it's a welcome distraction. After all, they say laughter is the greatest healer.

With "Happy Gilmore 2" hitting theaters a mere 8 days before Becky Lynch defends her Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam on Sunday, August 3, the excitement is building. Lynch is set to battle her one-time student, Lyra Valkyria, in a No Disqualification Match.
